Sentinel
Oil on gesso panel
16" x 20"

This winsome fox lives in a remote area of New Jersey's shore. Not many people know of their existence, except for a few kind souls who keep their distance and quietly take pictures. Consequently, the foxes have no fear of humans, and put on quite a show, tumbling and rough-housing in the snow. Occasionally, one fox will stop and stare at these strange human creatures. Then play resumes, with the foxes ignoring the alien presence. In one image, a young fox was so blase about intruders that he curled up for a nap and fell asleep on his blanket of snow. Below is a series of paintings of these animals, some watercolors and some oils. Four paintings are completed, with three more in the works.
