I enjoy painting on odd-size canvases, especially ones with exaggerated proportions of width to height. Some subjects are perfect for unusual sizes, even though they often present a design challenge. I visited Birch Point Park with the Dachshunds right after a summer thunderstorm had rattled by. The afternoon light was strange as the sun blasted out from its corner behind the pines, turning the trees’ tips to gold. The billowing clouds had splashes of almost every color in the rainbow. |
