Daisy on the Diagonal, Oil on Canvas Panel
16" x 20"
Silver-dapple Daisy. My second Dachshund. Obsessed about blue rubber balls. Races after the ball in snow, ice, mud, sleet, oven-roasting heat. Never flags, always ready. Crazy about her Booda Bone and string toy. At supper time, she brings her "prey" and drops it at my feet. The painting is a study in diagonals. The lines of the rug are intersected by Daisy's diagonal position and by the toy. Daisy's coat has layers of blue glazes, picking up some colors of the toy, and contrasting with the hot orange in the rug.
