This watercolor portrait was done in in 1988, over 28 years ago! It was one of the first dog portraits I did...very pleased witht the results. I loved this pose - full of "attitude", and showing off those wonderfully heavy Bulldog feet. And the contrast between warm and cool colors is particularly effective. Mack had the classic gruff Bulldog expression, yet his personality was all sweetness and true-blue loyalty. His owner lives in Massachusetts, and her extended family includes the owners of Leisha, The Boxer dog, and Nellie and Elsie the French Bulldogs.
