My daughter Kate inherited my passion for dogs, and after she graduated from college and went out on her own, she adopted two Shelties, Sora and Jester. They were both wonderful companions for her, and they loved hanging around the dog park near her home in Austin. Sora lived to the ripe old age of 13, and Kate was heartbroken when she died. I thought perhaps a portrait would be a meaningful gift. Sora was a joy to paint, with her elegant face and classic Sheltie coloring.
